Good Master, you still lead me boldly on,

You still converse with me forgetful of the time.

We talk, and solemn moaning mourning dong

Is floating far beyond the graveyard stone shrine.

Confessing grief and bitterness of soul,

Your heart was sowing seeds of Love and Living Word,

(And  many fell on stones,

But some on goodly ground...)

The heart that knew delight and earthly dole,

But deadly wounded by the pain and dole of your beloved son.

The panting heart, the fading light of eyes

For ever frozen by the graveyard earth remain;

But blessed, as all they that mourn, in Paradise

You are consoled and comforted in that eternal Heaven.

Could I prevail in your final holy choice to leave?

To stop or seize you was beyond my earthly power.

But often in my visions you’re still here, with me,

And I with you –

Within the happy chambers of my memories’ bower.

Good Master, lead me boldly on!

Converse with me forgetful of the time!

Let’s talk until the solemn moaning mourning dong

Awakens me in graveyard stone shrine.
